Speed Sensor ohm
« on: August 31, 2019, 08:48:40 PM »

Does anyone have any idea of what the wheel speed sensors for ABS should ohm at? Or is that even a valid way to check them?

I have a 2011 Electrical Service Manual not sure what year you are working on...-   It states "The active WSS is supplied system voltage from the ABS module. The sensor then returns a 7 mA or 14 mA signal back to the ABS module."
This signal is a "Square Wave."    Usually a scan tool with an oscilloscope display will show the square wave if it is working.
According to the service manual if you have a bad wheel speed sensor it will set a code if it detects vehicle speed and no wheel speed for a period of time or if 1 WSS detects wheel speed and the other does not for a period of time.

Thank you for the reply. Working on an 09. Sounds like I just as well get a scan tool.
