Suspension Technologiies Black Hills Shocks
« on: September 27, 2019, 04:23:02 PM »

So some might have read my thread about the Yelvington Mechanical Reverse Pulley I had installed on my 2015 CVO RGU. I had some issues with the M.R.P. and it turned out to be a assembly error. Becasue of this Suspension Technologies which Yelvington is a part of gave me a pair of their Black Hills 12" rear shocks. I had planned on at some point in the next year replacing my rear shocks with a pair of Ohlins. So this was a big surprise for me and I was excited to try them out as I had never modified my suspension on any of my other Road Glides.

I only have about 400 miles on these shocks so far but for me I noticed an immediate difference in the ride of my bike. Yes it is a little firmer but not in a bad way. As I have heard people say before you feel more planted on the road. So I am more than happy with these shocks and at this point I am planning on installing their front fork cartridges next spring.

I know you didn’t pay for them but what kind of price-point are we talking on those shocks? Also, what kind of pulley is that? Never seen one like that, i am assuming it’s aftermarket.

The shocks are normally $599 for a pair and come in 11", 12" & 13" sizes. They are having a sale right now offering $100 off for either the shocks or cartridges if bought separate and $250 off if you buy both front and rear. They come with a preload adjustment and will install the correct springs based on your weight and if you ride 1 or 2 up.

And yes if you look in the drivetrain section I just did a writeup on my install of the M.R.P.

I'm a lower right leg amputee from wounds I received in Iraq back in 2004. So installing the reverse helps me move my bike around a lot. And then going to 12" over the stock 13" shocks also help with me being able to get my feet flat on the ground. I can't say enough about how ST stepped up and came through for me.
