ABS brakes do's and dont's
« on: September 27, 2007, 07:51:51 PM »

Just reading Harley's Technical Forum book for 2008 models and found some interesting info

2008 wheel hubs are machined to accommodate ABS

Tone ring integral to wheel bearing

Wheel spacer is the sensor and is directional

Non ABS models have different bearings and additional spacers

ABS bearings are directional and are designed grey side out/ orange side in

IMPORTANT:  The use of a magnetic tray will adversely affect ABS wheel bearings

Calipers are not rebuildable

Digital Technician II needed to bleed ABS brakes

Just read an article in Bagger where they said you would have to have a dealer bleed the brakes.  They also said they where the best abs brakes out here.
