Can stock rear tire width be increased on a 2008 FLHTSUE3
« on: January 19, 2008, 12:47:10 AM »

I have  seen a rear spacer advertised that is sold that allows earlier baggers to put on a slightly wider rear tire,   I cannot remember exact years but I think 2003 and 2004  Ultras?

In any case, is this possible on the 2008 FLHTCUSE3 bikes,  to increase the stock rear tire by one or two sizes larger? A simple mod to allow a slightly wider tire? Or am I dreaming?

I'm pretty sure you can go up one size to a 150 (might have to trim the belt guard) without doing any other mod's or additions.  Any wider will probably need something more done.

Great looking bike.   :2vrolijk_21:

A 150 will fit without issue...a 160 will, with some minor mods to the belt guard.

However, if you use the bike for what it was intended...touring...and ride two up and loaded, pay VERY close attention to the load ratings on the wider tires.  Most are not suitable for a loaded touring bike, IMO.  If you just tool around town, no problem with almost any tire you put back there.

IMO, the only way to be able to get into a wider tire with the proper load rating/air volume, requires a swing arm change, and rear fender.  If it's the look you're after, that is the only good way to do it, but that is big $$$$.
