sorry for maybe double posting but I didn't see it here: 2014_Model_Year_Technical_Forum.zip.

Note: as the Company got so terribly innovative as of lately it's no longer a .pdf but a shockwave-application (ca. 30 MB!), so you may need the latest Shockwave Player and after unpacking the .zip Datei you will have to start the "NMTF_EN.html" in "2014_Model_Year_Technical_Forum".

Oh GREAT... won't work on my iPad. I HATE Shockwave.

Only the MoCo would do a new Shockwave bundle in this age of HTML5. This says a lot all by itself... sticking with old, proprietary technology plugins in a standards-based world. Good grief!

I am glad I purchased my 13 CVO RK....it appears this year they have removed the lowers and speakers in the saddlebags....  The speakers in the saddlebag are not that great....so I could live without those...but I do enjoy having the ability to play my I-Pod or charge my phone.  I was really hopping the MOC would come out with a modular radio for the RK...

Good question......Yes and No -there is no real life data on the new bikes -when I bought the 13 ultra I knew want I was getting into... thanks to forum's like this. I would like some of the upgrades (led lights,linked brakes) but let me ask you a question: would you buy a $40,000 Harley (liquid cooled) with no insight and knowing there past history of what happens when they make supposedly upgrades?

Ken
No.

I am happy that I got my 13 and didn't wait for the 14. I know all of these "improvements" are supposed to be better, but I don't like the GPS down low, not really big on the Batwing/bug catcher, and definately not liking the water cooling. There's a lot of new stuff, but I'm happy I got a 13 instead. Only thing i'd like on my 13 from the 14 would be the lights.

You would think by now - one way or the other this would no longer be an issue.

Jobs and his animosity have been gone for over a year. And the iPad sure does seem to have become the standard in portable devices.

There are valid technical reasons for not supporting Shockwave on the iPad... and HTML5 is better.

But you make a very good point... Jobs was steadfast in not supporting Shockwave more to make an anti-Adobe statement about standards than about the technical reasons. It would run fine on the newer iPads... but it would truly suck on an original iPad 1. But who cares?

I wish Apple would finally support Shockwave in iOS. I don't care if it sucks power... I have several chargers!

2014's are a non-issue for me.  Once you've ridden a RoadGlide front end, the BatWing has no place in your garage.  Handling is far superior.  IMHO.

Amen to that brother....  ::)

Willing to be optimistic for a moment and hoping the new cooling system isn't a big drip (because the heads really need the help), liking the new two piece steering stem (but thinking it's just nuts that the entire front end is supposed to come apart every 25k miles to grease it) and bigger forks, being glad they finally got around to linked brakes, thinking the new radio and its integration is a step forward, being pleased CAN bus is finally making moderately modern hand controls modular and more easily serviced without yanking wire through the bars, and liking the a bigger tour pak and the changes to the frame I am curious about how the two different versions of the new radio system will be integrated in a Road Glide fairing.

Am assuming speedo and tach in the pod and radio up in the middle of the fairing.  If so that's better than the new E-Glides as the radio will be in line of sight better.  For the better of the two radios with its larger display and nav functions that's a better placement.  So, yeah, while I'm pleased to see Harley making a big step towards automotive modernity in many areas this year I'm actually more curious now about next year and all these systems evolution in to the new Road Glide.
