Do I Want a CVO Dyna?
« on: January 14, 2009, 12:40:45 PM »

Hello all.  I have browsed this forum and have seen both positives and negatives around the CVO Dyna.  I am considering a used 2007 bike with about 3,500 miles and wanted to run it by you.

What would your recommendations be, primarily concerning the 110 engine issues.  If I get the "recall" work done, can I forget about the 110 issue being a problem?

This would be my 4th Harley (2002 Fat Boy, 2002 Deuce, 2006 Street Glide).  I am looking at the Dyna as "something different" for me.

Thanks, John

if u want it, go 4 it.
the 09models dont seem to have the problems so if the recall is done properly also having checked the jugs slippage, heads clearance, crankrun out if neccessary, u will be good to go. It will run hotter than ur used to.

I am sure there will be many helpful comments forthcoming.

I have had several issues with my 08, but they have all been taken care of and I still love the bike.I havent had my update done yet.The headgasket repair was done at about 3500 miles and now I have about 10k on it.

Just my 2 cents.

welcome to the site!
If you like the '07 Dyna, go for it, the issues can be sorted out later...

You did not indicate if you have ridden the bike.  I test drove one in 07 because I thought it was really sharp.  Come to find out it was an uncomfortable ride for me.
I ended up buying a 06 SEFB.  The ride does not compare to my 06 SEUC, but a much better feel than the Dyna for me.
My advice ride the hell out of it.  If it fits, the price is right and you like it than by all means take her home.  Good Luck.

Yes, I have ridden many HD models in the past, the only Dyna being a Street Bob.  I've owned a 2002 Fat Boy, 2002 Deuce, and 2006 Street Glide.

Personally, the FX was all they ever really needed in a street bike!!! As soon as they dropped the Evo in, it became an awesome riding bike. All models. Belts or chains! Narrow Glide or Wide Glide! Best looking HD street bikes ever made, and almost the best riding/handling (the FXR is the best there though!)!!! ;)
