Title: Photos: home made trailer and McHitch on 2012 CVO SG
Post by: r0de_runr on September 29, 2014, 06:02:31 PM
McHitch went on without a hitch, lol.  Pretty straightforward and simple design.  Flawless powdercoat.  But I needed a bit of reverse drop on my tongue so I put on a Reese 2.5 inch riser.   Lighting kit is plug and play from Chrome werks.

Harbor freight 1000lb trailer with one leaf removed.  12 in wheels.

Car top carrier is from Sport Rack, is 18 cu ft.  64in long by 39 in wide.

Pretty easy to build.

Just a not here guyz if you ever have trouble with your trailer swaying from side to side while travelling just lengthen your drawbar.

Nice rigs

That is the same kind of trailer I am wanting. I've had the store bought American Legend and it was great, but sold it when I thought my long trips were over. Wrong Robin! Now for the next version trailer.
One off with options. I can change it to an open or enclosed.

You'll be glad to know your American Legend trailer is alive and well. Since I bought it from you I've changed to chrome wheels and coupler, LED lights and had it painted to match my bike. It's been on several trips fuly loaded with no issues. The Mrs. likes being able to take everything but the kitchen sink when we go for a trip!

I am glad to know that you are enjoying the trailer.  Since I sold it to you I have been to New England twice. Who knew? Now I'm looking at Rib fest next year and possibly Colorado. Need space for special refreshments.
