Harley Dealership Prices

Do a copy and paste, Harley dealer prices, found on another site.  I'm not saying it is correct, but it is the first time I have ever seen anything like this.

Looks pretty accurate to me.  The dealer discount (markup) on CVO's has been in the 18-20% range for as long as I can remember.  In other words, take the MSRP and multiply it by 80-82% to get dealer invoice.  ie. $40,000 x .80 = $32,000 dealer cost (approximate).

Thanks I'll be sharing the link w/friends. :2vrolijk_21: Sure is good information to show/share to those dealers that mark up their CVO's.... hand it out to them and their customers as you tell the salesman/manager to pound sand walk out the door. :D

Less than 27k if I remember correctly.  I've got to say, if I had been the service manager for a dealer fourteen years ago and he wanted me to pay 8k over invoice for a new bike, I believe I'd take a pass on the bike and start looking for a new boss as well.  If that's the way he treated his service manager, I'd hate to see how badly he screwed regular customers.

It was MSRP + tax and prep. It was a Non MSRP dealership at the time. They would charge "whatever the market would support". At the time I had to beg them to let me buy it as they could have sold it to a walk in customer for more. This dealer is out of business now by the way...

Seems as if you should be able to buy a few thou less than MSRP since we all end up dumping in thousands more just to make the darn things run as they should as they come like any other brand. 8)

I looked at some of the other rec vehicles on thier site and most are less than 7%.  If you look at Ski-Doo snowmobiles, it's lucky dealers can stay in business.  Kawasaki was the same on markup.

Now if you can believe the dealer cost sheet, it's rediculous for some of the markups to be so low.

I don't see anything in their for hold backs or advertising accrued dollars etc.  Sometimes at the end of the year the dealer can have a big windfall of money from the previous year sales.

I had a buddy who was a CFO for a Harley dealer in Mesa, AZ.  I asked him what the MSRP markup on a bike was over cost and he said that it was 20%.  This dealer is a MSRP dealer.

I shopped a while and had a dealer in New York say ok to $33,000.00 [11fltruse] but because we live in Indiana I got one from an Indiana dealer for $34,000.00 no destination charge or set up, #s sound bout rite to me.

He would never sell me anything, even a T-shirt.  I'd rather spend the $3k on a trailer that I would then haul to the closest dealer that isn't a crook and buy from him.  The crooks stay in business only because the locals tolerate the gouging.

;D    Yeah, I always loved that with the dealers in my area.  They run these big customer appreciation day events, often two or three times a year when times were good, with live entertainment and free food.  They always made out like a bandit because the attendees spent more on clothing and accessories than the dealer did on the food and entertainment.  And even if the dealer hadn't made out on the stuff he sold, he had already made millions on these same people anyway.

Any Harley dealer who was in business in the 1990's and early 2000's, and isn't a multimillionaire, is either a really lousy businessman or the unluckiest person on the planet.  When you look at the markup on their products and compare to most other business's (other than jewelry stores), a Harley franchise over that period was better than owning a gold mine.

I showed that website to my salesman and his boss. Was told by the sales manager that he believes MoCo has a lawsuit aimed at getting that info removed..... again, that came from the mouth of a sales manager. ::)

Like the saying goes ... "Gotta pay to play". After the experience with my old '05 SEEG and all it's problems I vowed to stay away from CVOs and I stuck to my guns this far. They are nice bikes, but to me not worth all the extra $ for what you get. The way I see is just buy an Ultra and throw a little coin at it and still come out with a nice bike for far less than a CVO. When you want something bad enough you will pay for it no matter what the cost and HD knows it so they will still have no problem unloading new CVOs even at $40g+ ... but not from this guy they won't. I'm still smiling with shallow pockets and a nice ride ... a bike is a bike so enjoy it whether it's a CVO or not.

Stopped in the local dealer the other day to see the new bikes. 2015 CVO Limited on the floor for 42K! I bought my 2011 CVO Ultra for MSRP. I guess the are getting greedy these days. The 2015 didn't do anything for me to drop that kind of coin for a new CVO. I don't see a new CVO in the future for me.

They sold 2 Ultras last week.

They currently have as of yesterday, two 2014 Road Kings, Titanium and Black
Since the dealers own the bikes they have, I'm sure they are willing to pony up a sale.

2014 CVO Limited best bike money can buy. Worth every dime. Dealers are holding to msrp or more for the 2014 cvo limiteds in Florida. They know they will sell and the blue and red are better colors than the 2015 models. No real changes for 2015 to speak of due to the release of the Road Glide.  :cool26:
