Sorry to hear about your Aubrie. Losing a pet is never an easy thing.

We lost our 11 year old Saki a couple of years ago and it sucked. After a month or so of being really bummed out and worrying about our other dog Sumo we now have Shoji to keep him company.

As much as it hurt us losing Saki I think he always knew that he spent his life being spoiled to no end.

My first Malamute had rings around his eyes like that. My employees named him Mapache, meaning racoon in Spanish

Brought a new rescue pooch home today.  Got a call advising about him this morning and the timing was right so made the road trip to bring him home.

A Greyhound I'd had for quite awhile passed away back in late February.  A brindle female named Brindle.  She was a rescue and was a great dog but wasn't in great health when I got her.  She'd had a rough life.  She had a good last couple years here before some GI problems caught up with her.

About a month after she passed I got the (smaller female) dog in this picture named Juno.  She's a great dog too.  Though there are a couple of small Italian Greyhound sort-of-dogs here also that she gets along with at the Greyhound rescue get togethers Juno always gravitates to the males.  She seems to like the big boys as buddies.

This morning found out this boy that had been on the track until he was about three then in someone's home was having to come back through the system.  It was a people problem and not a dog problem but the issues were going to rain down on the dog.  So Juno and I went to visit and brought him home.

So far so good.  He's both sweet and playful and has no issues with the little sort-of-dog-like things nor the cat.  He's a big boy too.  Close to 90 pounds and that's big for a Greyhound.  The two dogs are within a month of the same age both turning seven this past spring.  So hopefully they'll be a good pair.

Already found out this evening they walk well on leashes together.  The new guy is named Marley and it seemed he'd spent little or not time on a leash before.  But six blocks in to the walk he was doing great.

Now, of course, he and Juno and all the rest are passed out.  Rescue Greyhounds have such difficult lives....

Thanks Duane.  After what has now been less than a day at his new home Marley is settling in well. Was a little restless to begin with just figuring everything out as they all do. But now has picked his favorite spot on the floor his favorite dog bed and is stretched out with all fours up in the air as greyhounds often want to do. He is still staying with me pretty well step for step while he's awake though. He also pulled a funny about 6 o'clock this morning when he saw himself in a mirror for apparently the first time.   That was a big dog bark!

I'm sure once he gets on a consistent diet he'll settle down.
