My big boy Marley the 90 pound goofy happy male Greyound got a trophy tonight that wasn't his usual bunny or squirrel.  Was after dark and the deer didn't see the chain link fence.  He and six of his comrades were in the yard and this offended Marley no end.  All the others jumped the fence.  This young male tried going through it.  Tore his antlers off, broke his neck, at least one leg and a hip.  Still moving a bit below the shoulders and making that noise they do when they're hurt.  Had to dispatch him with a quick hammer blow to the head to let him rest.  Poor guy.  He even tore his antlers off somewhere in the fence too.

Fence is fixed (enough for tonight to keep the dogs in).  Someone I know who will use the meat has come got the carcass.  Now the dogs can't figure out where their trophy went.

I don't have a big freezer anymore.  Just the little one that is half of the fridge.  And it's already mostly full.  So I let someone who will put it to good use come get him.  I'll get some sausage out of the deal.  All good  :2vrolijk_21: .

We do, Nikki is our 5th Doberman, if it was up to me we would have more than 1 but my wife thinks this time one is enough. Her she is on her eight birthday/ Not sure when she was born as she as all our others is a rescue.  Got her when she was 4 they say.
