That's a common garden spider.  They make pretty cool webs.  Often torn down every morning and replaced every evening.

This guy survived all the rain this weekend and is still sitting in the same place on the same web.  Every so often, a bug gets caught in the web and he goes and snacks on it, then returns to the center of the web.  Cool to watch!

It has been a long strange trip from 1979 in the Hub(still nice place to visit) to San Fran(great place to visit and would like to stay) back to Beantown in 84 to SoFlo in 89(used to be a lot nicer).  I still never have been up to finger lakes or any of that area...Someday.
