Have known a couple of people who owned dalmatians & as I recall they were medium to high maintenance & not all that great with kids.  Never had one, but as a kid I wanted one sooooooooo bad......

My best buddy Mickey The Wonder Dog is 1/2 Dalmation and 1/2 Boxer. Even at 13 he's still going strong and busts off a sprint every now and then. When he was younger running free at the family place on Sebago Lake, he had a buddy that was a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Ridgebacks are said to have incredible stamina. Mickey used to run him into the ground. I don't know which 1/2 made him the energizer dog, but I sure wish I had somehow let him find a mate and have pups. Gonna be a sad day when he's laid to rest beside that big lake in Maine.

1/2 dalmatian & 1/2 boxer - interesting cross.  Do you have any pics?  Ridgebacks do have a lot of stamina - Mickey was/is a strong one.

My best buddy - a Brittany - was laid to rest a while back.  Still hurts too much to talk about him.  Darn good dog & don't think there will ever be another even close.
