Had to say goodbye to one of the family today. Russell was with us for 15 years and was the best dog I've ever known. He had a gentle personality but yet was a great competitor. He held several titles in the agility ring and was recognized as the top Springer Spaniel in the midwest at agility when he was in his prime. He was always good to go if there was a ride or a hike or a game of fetch. He loved kids and they loved him.

There were a lot of tears shed today but we remember all of the joy he brought into our lives. These guys carve out a place in your heart over the years and when they have to go, it leaves quite a hole.

I know many on this forum have pets they love and can relate to the loss of a buddy. We lost a great one today.

Thanks Hoist! Good to see you over here again. Two sites are better than one. You gonna be out in Sturgis? Ray Pruban (from ES) and I leave Friday. Hope to see some of you all out there.

My condolences to you  Mark. Remember the happiness Russell gave you over the years and walk with it with pride.

Meet the latest addition to the Household.

This is Murphy, 3 month old Cocker Spaniel and just full of himself.

Mark, really sorry to hear of the loss of Russell, you're right about the hurt running deep, I don't know how they do it, but they sure have a way of worming their way into your very soul. Let's hope there is a bit of Russell's spirit in our new pup Murphy.

I submitted a picture of one of our dogs to a cutest pet contest that a TV station in the Quad Cities (IA) was puttting on for my wife.  I'm guessing there was 150 to 200 entries and they picked 8 of those for finalists that the public could vote on.  To begin with we didn't think she would be picked as one of the finalists, but she won the whole dang thing.  The wife was really excited...I guess I am too, but I still tease her that the boxer should have won.  Here's a picture we submitted.
