Everyone's complaint is with the visibility/viewability of the light and not the look of the unit?  If so the light isn't that much more after the cost of the rack itself.  If it looks ok and adds any light at all is it at least good enough to be deemed worthwhile?  Hope so.  Box with a rack and light arrived here today to mount on the King tour pak for the SERG  :huepfenlol2: .

Twolane, you have a point there that wasn't made previously.  The light doesn't do a tremendous amount of good, but it certainly looks better with the light, and it's not like you can't see the light at all.  When it comes to lighting, the more the merrier...at least to a certain extent before you go overboard.  Mine looks completely stock, other than the luggage rack LED, but I did make the tourpack lamps into LED and turned those lights into turn signals also, as well as the side lamps on the tourpack being turned into turn signals.  I think Harley gave me enough lamps in the rear.  They just forgot to make them LED and to make all the appropriate lamps into turn signals.

Spot on, Don.  The light it adds is a disappointment, but ALL light added in front of cage drivers's faces is good, and the rack looks LOADS better with the light unit mounted there.  I see other folks say theirs included silicone to fill the hole you take the plug outa, but mine didn't....

Hey ABA.

What did you have to do to make the tour pack lights brake and turn lights? I think I want to do that also.

That's what I was  hoping for and willing to assume might be a fair judgement.  Seemed to make sense.  It is one of the few racks I've actually like the look of.  And since in my case it's an Ultra style pack there are lights up there already anyway. So it is just the more the merrier.

Just unpacked the box this morning that contained the rack and its light.  Also in the same box was the LED brake light.  So the bike is on its way to at least a little better light.

No silicone in this box Jim.  Oh well, there's a tube around here somewhere.  Like you I much prefer the look of the rack with the light then without.  Fortunately the light is relatively inexpensive.  So I don't have to ask much of it :huepfenlol2: .

But you should have a (rubber) plug in the rack.....drill a small hole in the rubber plug and fish the wires through it and re-use,much nicer job that way.

Will do.  Thanks for the heads-up.  Hadn't turned it upside down yet.  Will make the discovery this evening if time allows.

Nah, I did a great silicone job, and sleeved the wires (as they weren't!) from the light to the rack.

it is a subtle change, but worth the $$s to do it.  it is not alot of light, however it makes the rack look so much better.  I put mine on and to crimp the connectors on I borrowed the tool from one of the techs at my dealership...works great.  of course with my bright ass light tail light most of the people behind me are looking at it, and not at the rack light.
