Very interesting. I wonder how to turn off the heated seats then. Isn't there only 3 selections on the switch?

Up is high; down is low; middle position is off.  But mine is plugged into the accessory switch and always was.  Must be that special attention the CVOs get.  Har, har.

My dealer must not have read the bulletin.  They told me I needed to turn the Accs switch on to operate.  I had the switch off and realized I was on the HOT seat... the rocker on the seat was on high. [smiley=smilie_koch1.gif]  At least I know the heater works!  Used it on a day ride up into our local mountains and I must say both the seat and grips came in handy [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Mine is correct and she is a beauty.  45 degrees on the way home with just jeans and a good coat.  The grips and heated seat kept me warm.  I did have Harley gauntlet winter gloves.

Love that seat.  It did take a warm shower to thaw a few body parts but I was comfortable all the way home about 70 miles of freeway flyin'. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

OK...my grips and seat work if the acc switch is off...

Which brings up the question...what the heck does the acc switch
actually control???

Whatever you want it to.  Have seen it routed to grips, accessory rear lighting, LED's and a few other things.  It runs lights on cop bikes in that application.

Hook something up to it and you control it.  It is blank on delivery.

HMMM,  My heated seat only works when the accessory swith is turned on, which I think is a good idea, because it eliminates the possibility of you or your passenger accidentally pushing the switch on.
The grips work any time the ignition is turned on.
