Fox Creek Leather
« on: August 27, 2007, 12:16:47 PM »

On my trip to Gatlinburg I took a 200 mile or so detour down to Fox Creek Leather. Very nice people to deal with. I ended up buying 2 jackets for my wife.

One I had shipped to the hotel we were staying in and it arrived in time for me to pick up my wife at the airport. But those of you that were there know we didn't need no stinkin' heavy leather jackets.

The 2nd I had shipped home. http://www.foxcreekleather.com/310.html

I also got 2 sets of the Lee Parks Design Deerskin gloves based on what I have read here. One each of the insulated and non insulated.

http://www.foxcreekleather.com/127.html &
http://www.foxcreekleather.com/131.html

They gave me $10.00 off on each item, that is the CVO discount. Free shipping and no tax if you have it shipped, unfortunately I purchased in VA< so the $40 discount I got was eaten up by t the $36 in tax., made for a good deal on the jackets. Too bad the beautiful fringe jacket with the inlaid roses doesn't have expansion gussets in the shoulders, the jacket is tight on my wife when she reaches forward.  :nixweiss:

http://www.foxcreekleather.com/19.html
This jacket was $210.00, a real bargain.

And, I found out the the shop that actually makes the jackets is about 15 miles from my work. I will have to go search them out. I want to see if I can get them to replace the POS zipper in my FXRG jacket.

Duane,
you'll love their stuff! I got the gloves first ( was looking for deerskin to go with a custom deerskin shirt), then bought vest, and then one of their jackets. Great quality, made in USA, and super people to deal with (plus we get a discount!!)  :2vrolijk_21:  enjoy, john

The storefront is actually small, maybe 20-30. There might have been just 1 or 2 of each style hanging up, along with a wall full of gloves.

I have found a problem with one pair of gloves, and this was after I cut the cinch strap off. The right hand thumb is about 1/4" shorter than the left, and the seam is right on the tip of my thumb. After last night I won't be wearing them anymore, actually made my thumb go numb. This is the Lee Parks deerskin unlined pair.

Couple years ago could not find a pair of chaps to fit me well (6'4' 280LB)and saw these guy at Rally said they could make me a pair, they took measurements & couple weeks later chaps arrived.  They are fantastic fit great, long enough, super thick leather - could not have asked for more still were them today.  Cant remember the price but dont think they were any more than HD stuff.

I got a full set - Jacket/vest/chaps/gloves/belt   all top quality , great service.

The jacket is too big and they are taking it back for credit, I'm riding up in a few weeks to get fitted for one, I don't mind waiting to get one that is just right. Thanks for the tip on tax /shipping ..

The chaps are fit like they were custom, the deerskin gloves are great.  The belt was too small, measured on total length rather than waist size, so I gave to my son in college.. he was happy.

Sounds like great customer service.  And for those of us who are not standard sizes, and opportunity to get a custom fit too.  Thanks for the reports.

Thier store is real laid back , and for its size has a good selection .  Luckily they had the jacket I wanted in the perfect size .  It's a beautiful ride up , although Independence is a little town.

N...have you ever seen or tried on their leather overpants?  Was wondering how they look/feel.  Diva was thinking of some leather pants instead of the chaps.  If I could keep my waistline a constant size, I might like some as well.   ;D

I like the chaps better too...for us men, they work well, but the ladies have a harder time at pit stops with the chaps on than we do.  Suzanne was able to find a pair in their blowout sale, so she ordered them today...

I bought a pair of the leather overpants... they are very well made and actually easier to get on than chaps. They looked like they were about three sizes too large when they arrived but fit very well - comfortable in the sitting position. They leave no cold spots in the wind!

Suzanne was able to get a pair of their leather overpants in their "Blowout" sale list...they just happened to have a pair that fit her.  She got them yesterday...very well made, as usual.  I'm rethinking this and may get a pair as well.  The design is virtually waterproof, so would eliminate the need for rainsuits in colder weather, IMO, particularly when the leather is treated.  Really nice product, and over $100 cheaper than the HD FXR product, and much thicker, more supple leather.

until I joined this forum I'd never heard of Fox Creek Leather.  Now I have the Rebel II MC jacket from them on clearance, a braided two tone buffalo nickel vest from e-bay and the lined deer skin gauntlet gloves (which are the BEST value of any riding gloves I've seen).  The gloves were on backorder for a couple weeks when I ordered them and the bike was already in storage when they arrived.  I haven't had a chance to wear them yet but I'm looking forward to it.  Who cares if my heated grips crap out now!

I'll likely get chaps also but I want to try them on a rally first.  They're awesome on the phone and to deal with.  In fact, I placed the order for the gloves online and got a call within a couple minutes that they were on backorder.  I could have gotten an impersonal e-mail like every other company sends.  The call was a nice touch.  And CVO members get a discount besides!

I second any and third any and all endorsements for Fox Creek. I bought a Men's Classic jacket about 8 years ago and it has served me well through a lot of miles and weather. It looks and feels great. It is the best made jacket I have ever come across. I have also bout gauntlet gloves, custom chaps, and this past summer a went for a perforated racing jacket.  All of their gear is of the highest material and quality - and most importantly - it wears and functions well. All of my dealings with them have been excellent and they are very responsive.

George...if you measure yourself just like they tell you to, the chaps will fit like a glove, bro.  I've got the braided chaps, and so does Diva...love 'em!!  I'm neck to feet in Fox Creek products...best leather out there, without exception, and the price/value is right on.

I too had never heard about Fox Creek until this site and am now the proud owner of 2 jackets and 2 pair of their gloves. One of the jackets didn't fit quite right and I received an unbeleivable level of customer service in an effort to get it right. Fox Creek is a class act IMHO. Thanks to those site members that took the time to give the rest of us a heads up!!!  :2vrolijk_21:

Fox Creek leather has always been at The Great American Motorcycle Show every year I've gone.

I try and only post the good links  :2vrolijk_21:

It is a very nice coat, my wife was really disappointed that it did not fit her properly, and unfortunately it is a discontinued model.

That is a problem with woman though ..............

A size "large" shirt for men will fit 99% of the male population that wear a size large, just isn't the same with females.

The worse thing with that jacket was that I bought it as a surprise, picked it up on the way down to Gatlinburg last summer for the HOG rally, had my wife fly down (she can't do that kind of ride) and told her to Not bring a jacket, I had a surprise for her  :nixweiss:

Fox Creek Leather is having a pretty good Valentine's sale, if anyone needs any top quality leather items.  They have also started carrying boots in their line, and a LOT of different styles.

Just ordered the wife a pair of Deerskin gloves, she liked mine so much (even though they were too big for her) that I was always losing my gloves when we started to go riding, and I would find them on her hands. So now, she will have her own pair.
