Nolan N102 anti fog shield question
« on: December 01, 2007, 08:34:30 PM »

TC, did you get the anti fog shield for these lids?  Or anyone else?

If anyone has one do they work?

Can accomplish the same thing leaving the face shield cracked a bit.  But when it's COLD that's not the best alternative.

I can't hear my music if the shield on my full face is closed all the way.           (But, I don't hear too well in any case.)  ??? har!  :drink: spyder

That's a trade off Spyder.  I prefer having it up open a little or more than a little.  But occasionally rain or cold weather suggest otherwise.  Those same times make it fog up too.

Of course with Bluetooth or a little wire I got tunes inside the lid anyway :bananarock: .

Yeah, I treat my shield with one of a few of those anti-fog chemicals.....called: Clear.  Just  spray on and wipe off......only problem is having to re-apply on a reg. basis.  Doesn't last as long as a good Glare polish job.  But, if you were lucky enough to have recently done it when those occasions like you mention above occur.....it's one solution.  :)  spyder

Don...I did get the anti-fog shields, but have never installed them.  Always forget until I need them, then they are usually 300 miles away.  If you give them a try, let me know if they work and that might motivate my lazy ass to install them... ;)

Have used good old fashioned spit and some other stuff from the dive shop.  But it always has worn off just when you want it the next time.

I was thinking about buying one Terry.  They're even cheap.  Was just wondering if they actually worked before spending/wasting the sawbuck.

Since the cold weather arrived, I have gotten into the habit of "cleaning" my glasses and helmet shield (full face) with "Zooke" blue stuff.  It seems to work pretty well, but still find myself needing to crack the visor open in some situations.  BRRRR.  I had a Scorpion full face helmet for a few years and it was absolutely the best as far as not fogging up.  Had other issues with that helmet (noise, no sun visor) but it was great at preventing fogging.

Ride Safe.

Thank you!  One more question.  The piece I saw advertised appeared in the ad to be an inner shield of some kind.  Is it a film application?

Yes some sort of plastic about 1mm thick, it is a bit fiddly to spring it in  but fits firm against the sheild when installed

 Also  forgot to mention
It is not film applicatiom and is not stuck on. The pressure of the curve on the screen keeps it fimly in place

Are we talking about the same thing??? I received with my new helmet an anti-fog inner shield that snaps into inner face shield. I used it over a year and it fogged up for me. :nixweiss: Not as fast as without it but I ended up removing it because dust seemed to get behind it and looked dirty. Maybe it is my Hot Flaming breath that comes out of me in my passion for riding!!! :huepfenlol2:

Thanks for the insights JA.  Sounds like you've been satisfied but JR might have had some issues.  The parts are fortunately inexpensive.  Think you've helped enough to at least give it a shot.  Not out much if my experience is closer to JRs than yours.

Thanks again.
