Just my take on things, but it would take a true azz to find a cop that is willing to kid around and then post something that looks far worse than it was. No one was put in danger and their speeds were not that great. Next biker that cop pulls will get no break. AZZhole all the way. Scumbag doesn't even own a bike!!!

I will agree that it takes a TOTAL jerk to post the vid for the world to see, but then his actions in posting it are seemingly typical of many individuals who post stuff like this on the interweb - they just don't think that there can be any consequences for their actions  :nixweiss:

Remember not to long ago the other fools from New York city were dumb enough to post the video of their entire group being A-Holes breaking several traffic laws and intimidating the family in the SUV - they probably thought it was funny  :(

Seems to me sometimes technology makes it way to easy to be stupid - my thoughts are you should try and be smarter than the equipment you're operating.....

This is not intended to defend or excuse the LEO, however... I don't think the LEO posted the video... it appears that the rider on the red bike is the one with the camera and more than likely is the one that posted the video. :nixweiss:

What I've learned in my 30 years (especially now with technology <IE: camera's on phones/etc>) in public safety is don't do anything in uniform (or out of uniform for that matter) that you don't want to have to explain your actions later.

I also assume it was the sportbike rider who posted the vid since he was the one wearing the camera.

And yeah the LEO should know better given the proliferation of camera phones ect...

But personally I think if an LEO is willing to engage you in this manner - instead of writing you up for reckless driving for pulling the wheelie - you shouldn't be so stupid as to post it and subject him to disciplinary action or potentially cost the guy his job.

Agreed... Unfortunately (and this is not intended to stereotype) the younger generation don't understand/realize the implications of there "live it now" lifestyle... they think posting/sharing what happens in the "moment" is hip/cool and don't realize that once it is on the internet it is there forever... no matter whether they delete it (which isn't really deleted), somebody has captured/saved it and will repost it. :( You can bet your last dollar the next time that rider (on the red bike) asks a LEO if they want to race he will get pulled over... the next time he "pulls a wheelie" and is in the sight of a LEO he's going to get a ticket... he did himself no good by posting what he thought might have been cute/funny to share.

Without the "you wanna race" remark it would have looked like nothing more than two bikes buzzing off side by side.  No red lights ran.  No extreme speed.  No traffic or traffic pattern altered or rushed.  I'd personally have no problem with a cop doing what they guy did.  In fact of more cops wore uniforms rather than tactical gear and more cops were good natured with the average joe on the street a lot of kids would be a lot less afraid of cops.

The other rider who posted the video is at least an idiot for not considering the potential consequences of what he posted or an asshole for recognizing those potential consequences and posting it anyway.  That cop is ok in my book.

I concur... looking at the speedo they were never faster than 70.

I laughed when the cop said he had a turbo and as the pic scanned the bike it was stock.

To the credit of the poster of the video. He started a petition to help the officer get his job back.

The cop reminds me of a cop here that used to fool around like that from time to time.... way cool.

Too bad the next kid isnt going to be so lucky.
