2007 SE Dyno
« on: November 03, 2006, 12:00:55 PM »

Just joined this forum. I bought a 2007 SE Road King last month. I am [posting the dyno results. Bike is pretty much stock except Supertrapp Slip-ons with baffle mod.

Welcome to the site.  you have found a great wealth of knowledge from site members here.  The numbers look very good to me (torque, hp, AF) for a bike with the stock download.  Enjoy your new ride.

Welcome to the site!!

I have a few questions for you.

1.  What exactly do you mean by a stock download  from the SERT / PCIII, other ....
the local dealers and the ones in north carolina hadnt had an update to the digital tech units as of last week to update your ECM.

2.  The only issue I see with your mapping is that I would worry at WOT that you are a bit to lean.   14 to 1 is great up to a point and then you begin to run the motor a bit too lean as an observation.

Bike looks like it pulls great, but would probably yeild a bit better numbers if the bike were a bit richer in the top end also a bit safer on the motor.

Welcome Tattoo
That's sweeeeet for a stock motor. That lean condition worries me at igher RPM's. Deffinately shows why a PC or SERT is needed after mods are done.

Apperently the SE download that came with the bike is at fault with being lean. I do plan on SERT soon and I will post new numbers.

Have you looked into Zippers Closed Loop Thunder Max Ecm? I still like the idea of having a complete new ECM not just the stock one that has a program lying to it to richen it up. Also too many PC's going bad right now. I saw 2 just last week. I am not sure how the SERT is working on the new 07's as of yet. One other bad point about the SERT you will still have a set of narrow band o2 sensors on the bike.

BTW great looking Dyno sheet with just slip on's. And yes I too would worry about the lean condition.

I just got a message from Jamie of Speeds Performance Plus. He did work on a 110" and these were his results:
"Hey just did a 110" CVO bike in Galveston, TX rally.  We added a 2 into 1 D&D fatcat exhaust and a power commander.  The bike after tuned did 92 hp and 110 ft lbs of torque.  We used a power commander with O2 eliminators. You will still get 40 or better mileage, depending on riding style."
I'd be concerned about pushing those numbers with the stock ECM. It seems that no matter what work you do, you need to be able to reset the A/F ratios for that mod. Good luck and keep any eye on those plugs! Hoist!

Those numbers are identical to my dyno. I would think the power commander and a good 2into 1 would provide more? What am I missing?

Don't go just on numbers, same bike on a different dyno on a different day can and will produce different results. There are too many factors to do an apples to apples comparison.

Generally speaking though you are correct. The 2-1 and a PC/RT/T-max should produce better numbers than a canned download with slip-ons. We do not have the dyno sheet to look at in this case to see if the numbers are STD or SAE corrected either. Also where is the AF ratio? I'm not doubting the numbers, just too many unknowns here.

I also noticed on your sheet that the SAE says its at 1.06? Ususally the SAE correction factor is about .97. That could be about a 6% or so pad in the numbers.
