Somebody correct me if I am wrong..but I think the new fairing does not come with holes already drilled for the mirrors. You must drill them when you install.

Mike,  He traded his inner fairing to a Ultra Limited owner..... so the one he's got now is off an utlra.

As to answer your question about the holes being drilled I really don't know for sure, but I'd guess they are there already :nixweiss:

Wheels, I believe Mike was asking about holes in his SESG inner fairing from the factory.  Not the ultra which is why JC had to trade for his ultra inner fairing because he mounted handlebar mirrors and no longer has the inner fairing mounted mirrors.  I'm stating that I would presume the Street Glide inner fairings come with holes drilled in them from the factory, whereas I believe Mike is questioning whether or not the holes are drilled during the setup.

Thats what I was talking about he traded the fairing instead of repairing the holes? The Street Glide inner does come with the holes. As it is injection molded plastic the fix is to order an Ultra inner fairing.

At first I thought he meant the Tour Pak? JCZ's came without holes.

Your link is same thread I got the quote from JC that he had the Ultra fairing repainted and went with handle bar mount mirrors. The holes for the mirrors are already in the hand controls they just have chrome covers on top.

Not being vertically challenged myself I prefer the Streetglide mirrors. They work better for me than the handle bar mounts I used to have. :2vrolijk_21:

That's why the catalog is so thick :nixweiss:

When riding the CVO Ultras with painted inner fairing I found with the sun behind me the metal flake in the paint blinded me even with sunglasses. 8)

To the point I was concerned it was a safety hazard. This was another reason to go with the Street Glide and the Vivid Black inner fairing. At least for me ;D

JC
What did you do about the holes where the mirrors were in the fairing? Fill and paint? I always thought that would be a good place for tweeters. Maybe we should design a kit for that and help support this site with the $$$ :huepfenlol2:
A guy that has an Ultra Classic Limited wanted my fairing.....I took his and some$.

They don't come color matched.....you have to get yours (or another one) painted to match for the SESG.

That I know--mine is being painted right now. But I think the new ones don't have mirror holes already drilled in them.

I know the Electra Glide inner fairings don't have the holes.....but are you saying the SG inner fairings are no longer pre drilled?

Now I am not 100% sure....the one I bout and had sent out to paint for my last SG wasn't drilled, but maybe the dealer took it upon himself to order me an EG fairing. But it did come with mirror hole drilling structions in the box---so who knows?

When I changed the inner on my wife's 09 FLHX, it just came with a template for the mirrors.  Ended up leaving it holeless and put mirrors on the reach bars.

The shop that is painting my new inner fairing has confirmed that it is not pre-drilled for mirrors.

Are you going to drill it or use the handlebar mirrors?

I went with bars that are 2" taller and 2" back so I had to go with different mirrors. :nixweiss:
