You should have another look at the online HD planner, guys - improved by a HUGE amount of late, and fast now - but again, offline Tyre is better than MapSource by a huge margin.  MapSource is a terrible bit of software...

Thanks Jim.  Have tried the new improved Ride Planner and still do not like it.  I'll look at Tyre but I still think using Mapsource with the exact same map data should work better with the Zumo.  I have not had a problem with the Zumo (or older Streetpilot for that matter) not following the route as I designed it in Mapsource.

I gave up transferring routes pc => Zumo actually and got used to dialling them in directly to the Zumo. had to learn how to do this anyway as we quite often change plans under way when only my wife and me are out for a tour of some days. After some training it's faster, can be done anywhere and you don't have to double check  ;)

Map source does not work with MAC.  Base Camp is not at all user friendly, nor is Road Trip.

The new HD ride planner is easiest to use, however the Garmin does not follow that route, it recalculates to the fastest route or shortest route.

That's why you need to add waypoints, Dave, to force the Garmin recalculation onto your route.  Or you can use a Windows emulator on your Mac, and use something like Tyre.
