Dave-

Tell him I can still remember him getting out of his car during a race at the 500 (on pit road) and jerking the wrench out of a mechanics hand and working on the car himself (helmet and suit).      :2vrolijk_21:

Ronnie checking the pressures on the "Reds" a softer compound, better grip, get up and go tire. Each team has 2 sets of these. they don't last long on this course but they give you better times.  :2vrolijk_21:

AJ & his long time friend Mr Greer "trying to get too pit lane". Thre is always a crowd in St Pete and everyone still loves the "Legend" Foyt.

My view looking up pit lane,  Dan Wheldons # 4 National Gaurd car.  Capt. Bob sitting on the wall is Foyts pilot to his jet.
The pits are crowded till raceday as we share with the ALMS & Indy Lights series teams.

This year because of construction, some of the teams were set up in a parking garage which help with shade and cover. Had a strong front come thru Friday and temps where hot so the cover came in handy.
The crowd loves to get up close as in nascar you dont get that.
All in all it was a good weekend, or should I say a lucky one as Vitor had 3 incidents over the weekend. 1st one getting together with Wheldon coming out of the pit box, and brushed the outside retaining wall, whitewalling the tires but no damage. 2nd spun on racedays morning practice and took out the rear wing. 3rd got cut off and took the frt wing out during the race. All quick fixes. Very lucky not to have tore up the car to where it would of took a lot of work to get the car repaired or get a back car ready to go, or even to be taken out of the race.
All in all I had fun working my a$$ off and I'm was a tired ole man when I gots home. Even though my raceday duty was only pulling the "Deadman" safety valve down long enough to fill the car with methanol ( smells like tequila ) throwing tires rolling hoses or whatever. I'm Gettinold.  ;D
