Saw a Metzler 880 brochure in the dealership yesterday. They have bagger tires up to 150, with the speed and load ratings. Even has 18" front and rear tires and 3 different 21" front tires. They only had 1 brochure and have ordered more to give out. When I get my hands on one I will try to post all the info.

I can't imagine ever intentionally burning the tires on the old girl.

..... If you guys are getting over 10K on the rear you must never spin the tire!
Nope, don't spin mines. I have gotten an occasional "chirp" out of them, but my tire "smoke out" days are long behind me.

Have started to have issues with the quality of metzlers.  They have change manufacturing plants.  It's my understanding that they are made in Brazil now not in Germany.  I've had a tread seperate on a rear, a bubble form on a front tire and they are not wearing as long.  The one with the seperated tread only had a little over 6,000 mile on it and was down to the tread bars.  I am hard on them but that kind of mileage is unaccepteble IMHO and am going to look at a set of Michelins Commanders.

I ran Metzelers on my old RKC and consistantly ran about 7.5k on the rear tires. I thought they handled better than stock Dunlops.  I am not a very agressive driver and never do burnouts.

I'll probably go with the AVONs or Dunlop E3 before I head up to Nelson this summer.  I've heard some really good thinks about the E3 in terms of handling, wear, and load rating.  The Avons also have a good rating but seem to get the same wear as the Metz's do. In addition  I hear most HD dealers carry them in stock (for those emergency opportunities on the road  ;D )

Would be nice to hear from folks on this forum their experiences with E3 and/or Avons vs. Metz's.
