Title: Denim Cleaner on Gloss Paint
Post by: Ta2dResqr on July 24, 2020, 12:15:12 AM
So I am picking up my Dark Alloy over Black Denim 2018 tomorrow. I have read a lot about the proper cleaners for Denim paint. My question is, will the Denim Cleaner work on the Gloss Dark Alloy as well? Or do I need to essentially tape off the Denim, polish the Gloss and then tape off the Gloss and clean the Denim?

Not sure what products you refer to as Denim Cleaner. Best cleaner is a good PH Neutral Car Wash Soap. No need to even consider using a separate cleaning product on the different finishes. Just wash with good soap and water, dry and ride on!
If you really want to get serious about protection they make a Ceramic Product just for Denim finishes and when properly maintained it should last for at least a year.

I was referring to products like Harley's Denim Cleaner spray or RatWax (made for denim, flat, matte finishes). I'm used to waxing gloss paint.

I use Rat Wax, love it and love Amazon to buy it.

DO NOT use any cleaner with wax, it ruins the denim look. I was looking at Bug Slide at dealer and parts manager knew me and my denim black paint, he said not to use the Bug Slide as it will do same. You are ok using denim detailer on gloss, just no gloss cleaner on denim.
