Title: My dealer is having problems with adding my electrical goodies

Hi,

Is there a convention for wiring in electrical accessories?

My dealer added an "in-line signal booster" to make the volume of my HD handlebar mounted MP3 player come up to the equivalent volume of the inbuilt CD player. During the modification he also re-wired the HD handlebar mounted MP3 and the "in-line signal booster" so that it is powered off the same circuit that powers the cigar lighter socket. When he took it out for a test ride the speedo and rev counter needles went back to zero and the bike felt like it was about to stall due to lack of current.

I only have the following electrical extras fitted;

1. HD heated seat
2. HD heated grips
3. Gerbing dual control permanent fit (presumeably wired direct to battery)
4. Garmin GPS
5. HD handlebar mounted MP3
6. in-line signal booster

I do ride with the passing lamps on. It can be chilly here in the NW of England hence all of the heated gear.
