TRUCK LITE PHASE 7
« on: February 13, 2015, 11:32:14 PM »

Just ordered the motorcycle combo, headlight and passing lamps for $332 and free shipping from Discount Fleet Supply after reading lots of nice reviews. Are there any problem areas with the install or is it simply plug & play?

My best bud put those in his '09 UC, and didn't have any problems.  The Phase 7s really put out the candlepower, and he really liked them (and he bought the same package you did).

You might (or not) need to adjust the passing lamps slightly closer to you and a little more to the side to fill in the dark area left by the tightly focused head lamp, especially when in the curves.  You'll find out on your first night run with them.

You may also want to get a frenched or visor style headlight ring, as the phase 7 sticks out a 1/2' farther than the stocker, and looks goofy.

Stick 'em and click 'em. Been running them for a couple of years and haven't had a single issue other than bugs being attracted to them!

The sale price was $349.99 and I used a discount code HDLED5 for a 5% discount. It was the best price I found for the complete set. Shipping is FREE. The single 7 inch light is $179.99 if interested.

I know everyone has said that it is plug and play. Currently the bike has the 2 bulb headlight and I hope that the wire harness will fit without any cutting. Is there a wire harness with 2 plugs that plugs into a 3 way connector used for a single light headlight? (Hopes that makes sense)

If you have dual halogen bulb presently, you will have to purchase P/N 71628-04 wiring harness.  This harness converts your double connector back to a single so you have high and low beam back on a single line.  Think it was around $20 from dealer.  You do have to take fairing off to install and then its a matter of unplugging the old and installing the new.  You will love the Phase 7.

Pull your old headlight out before buying a new harness. My 2012 cvosg had a removable harness hooked to the dual bulb system. Just unplugged it and the phase 7 plugged right in.

That's what I'm hoping for. I had installed the 2 bulb halogen light on my 2004 Ultra and used the supplied harness adaptor. I can't imagine they would have used a unique harness for the few bikes that use the halogen setup. If I do need to purchase a harness I think I could just make the necessary connection by just removing the headlight bucket as opposed to removing the fairing.

It 's just too damn cold, snowy and miserable up here to play in the garage.

Thanks for all the input.

My 2006 had the same harness as yours.

Here is the link for $350, with the coupon code HDLED5 price drops to $332.50, free shipping and no tax.
Best price I have seen for the set and beats Eastern by a few bucks.

I second this. No harness needed. 10 minute install.

The Truck Lites came today via FedEx. Perfect timing as we are in the middle of a heat wave, 14* in the garage, so I installed them. Maybe in a few months I'll actually get a chance to use them. Install was easy despite the cold. The passing lights have a lot of wire and a big plug on the end that connects to the existing HD plug. Just had to make sure that the connectors were at the top of the lamp so that I wouldn't squash anything. The curvature of the lamp appeared to be similar to the OEM lamp. I just might be able to use my Cee Bailey amber lens on them. I didn't need to buy another harness. The 2 bulb halogen light was plugged into the H4 connector.

Hey Guys,

Thinking about purchasing the Truck Lite Phase7 headlight and driving lamps for my 2009 FLHTCUSE4.  My question is will this newer technology lighting working on a 2009 CVO Ultra.  Also I have read somewhere that I would have to purchase another cable that would eliminate the 2 bulb connection to a single connection.  I think the PN #is 71628-04.

I appreciate any and all feedback to help me determine whether this better lighting will work on my bike.
