Harley 660
« on: January 10, 2011, 09:59:34 AM »

On my old 660 and 665 the voice turn directions are very detailed i.e "turn left in 1/4 mile".  Noticed that the 660 that came with the 11 Ultra only gives abbreviated turn directions i.e. "turn left".  Is there a setting that can be changed?

Just a question to distinguish one from the other a bit.  Are the "old" 660 and 665 units Garmin branded units while the new 660 supplied with the bike is a Harley branded unit?  There are some differences in the units.  You may have stumble on to another.

"old" 660 and 665 are Garmin.  New 660 is HD Roadtech.

So maybe the same suite of changes that lets the Harley branded units work with the NIM and do a few other things differently also dumb down the audible responses?  If not a correctable difference that'd be a bummer.  I like the relatively more specific guidance.

What about the screen prompts?  Are they minimized also?

Did you give the 665 away with the '07?  I think you're gonna miss the weather, aren't ya?

Still got the 665.  I'm waiting on the Kennedy Cell Set before I pull the outer fairing off and installing the cell set and 665 cradle.
