Truck-Lites Phase 7 Trim Ring Help
« on: July 08, 2013, 05:37:15 PM »

Hey everyone.  I'm sure this topic has been bandied about a bit but I didn't see any info on what I'm looking for so I could use a little help.  I just ordered the Truck-Lites Phase 7 from Discount Fleet Supply (great, great price at $369 shipped - they were kind enough to match Eastern Performance Cycles' price).  After reading past posts, reviews, etc., I decided to go with the Truck-Lites for several reasons; two of them being the cost is way cheaper that the J.W. Speaker/Harley versions and frankly, I'm tired of giving the MoCo my money.

What I'm interested in is some help on headlamp trim rings that work with the truck-lites.  I'm going to install them on an '05 FLHTCSE2.  I really don't like the frenched or visor trim rings.  I want to keep the sleekness of the front end and I feel that either of these trim rings would defeat that look and I really don't like the seam at the bottom where the mounting screw is.  Harley has a contoured trim ring (69604-03) that has the look I'm after, but I'm not sure if it will fit with the truck-lites.  Anyone got any advice or ideas on this?  Thanks in advance...

You are going to love your Truck lite Phase 7 light.  I can't believe how the night is no longer dark.   :2vrolijk_21:  I used these rings on my running lights phase 7 light and headlight and I'm not sure which one's they are but I like the look.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm looking forward to installing them.  It looks like what you have is the visor trim ring.  That look is a little too bulky for me.  It does look good on the Ultras, but I have more of a Street Glide look; a little more streamlined and I want to keep that look...

I have the 7" Truck Lite on my Ultra, and I decided on the HD trim ring p/n 69627-99 (I think).

It's simple and fits perfectly over the Phase 7.  $38.

That part number is for the frenched trim ring.  Harley's website says that it installs over the original trim ring, which means that it has a seam in it where it bolts to attach.  That seam never looked good to me.  From those I've seen, it never seems to meet right.

An alternate source is Headwinds.  They make billet trims that look great but have a high end price.
