I sold my 2012 FLTRXSE Road Glide Custom ... Maple Metallic ... 3600 miles ... for 30K ... is that a good price?
-
That sounds like a good price. I was looking at trading in my 2012 FLHTCUSE7 for a 14 model but they only wanted to give me 25,000 so I told them no.

I look at scooters the same way I look at anything I'm buying. If'n I'm happy and the sellers happy.....it was a good deal. And most time I try not to count the seller!!!!! :huepfenjump3:

2 year old bike and lost less than 5k, you did good! :2vrolijk_21:

Just my .02 but if it's already sold like you mention, I would not give it a second thought. It's a done deal and it is what it is.......If you were happy at the time of sale then just stay happy. If on the other hand you are the type of person to dwell on things I would use a sight like www.edmunds.com to get price figures on vehicles based on the condition, options, mileage etc. in your area of the country. Sites like that will give you a trade in value, private sale price and a dealer suggested retail price on your vehicle so you can get an idea of average pricing based on many things so you are comparing apples to apples so to speak.

I'd say you did better than most. Looking at various used bike price guides, the average trade-in value would be about $25k and the retail at a dealership would be about $30k. So you basically got the same amount a dealer would have, without having to pay any of the dealers costs. That's not usually the case, as many private party to private party deals tend to split the difference between trade-in value and dealer retail value.

You did well. How much did you spend in mods?
-
D&D exhaust, Paint matched King Tour Pack, Yaffee 16" apes, Yaffee mirrors and a few other items. Selling at 30K I figure I lost 5-7K over 2 1/2 years of ownership

I think you may have thought a lil too hard on my question. I just wanted to see if others thought the price was good ... basically have others sold and found they received a comparable price. The theory of the sell and my happiness was not what I was looking for

I have the same bike, you got "all the dough"...
-
Yes, I felt as if I did but wanted to see if other same bike owners agreed.
-
I have same bike as well with hot stereo and other mods.-------------I wouldn't take that for mine.
When the new ones come out ( hopefully) I plan to buy another RG!
-
I've got the same bike, and I really think that's about as low as I would go when selling it, at least at this time.

I would have happily paid you $45,000 cash. Happy now?
This is one of the questions you never ask after the sale is closed.
-
If you ever want to price shop a bike you are selling, look at Chopperexchange.com
It is a good indicator of market pricing, including mostly used bikes from private owners.
I have sold 2 bikes that way and last time the sellers have come from out of state.

You sold it for more than I paid for my skunk brand new. You did very well.

I just bought a candy cobalt 2012 custom in Oct 14 miles was a little high at 17k, bone stock. Long story short I was driving back in a rented car from another state where a deal on an 11 Ultra fell through for $26k, they were asking $28,800. Offered $25k, they said $25.5 and the rest is history. All in all it was $29 OTD with 3 year warranty. Now if it would just stop raining.
BTW, to the OP's question, my wife gives me crap because I always ask that question after buying something. But if youre happy enjoy it.
