Change out engine guard

Anybody changed the engine guard out?  I am looking at a Lindby but will need to change the fairing mount it appears.  Anyone have any input?

Yaffe makes a good one for no engine bars if that helps.

I had a Lindby Bar on my '04 RG and have one on my '09 SERG.  They are a family owned company in Orange County California.  Both fit perfectly with no mods.  You might want to call them directly about fit and install.  They were very helpful to me when the SERG (and new frames) came out.  

Below is a recent pic showing the Lindby on the SERG.  Hope is shows the mount:

I like the Lindby's but realized I would need new highway peg mounts and new soft lowers, since these OEM pcs wouldnt fit. These added costs are something to keep in mind.

I ended up having mine powdercoated black for $60 and am happy with that.

Lindby offers their bars in chrome and black.  Shouldn't need to pay extra for power coating after the purchase.
