Intalling a Klock Werks windshield
« on: October 20, 2012, 07:21:25 PM »

Ok so I'm trying to install a Flare windshield. Trying to reuse the old gasket off the HD windshield and its not working so well. Do I use it anyway or no gasket?  No instructions in my box so any help would be great!

Thanks Rich

I believe they say you can't use the gasket on the CVO with a Klock Werks shield. Saw it on there website.

Well I put it on without the gasket and it looks good. Just came back from a roll around the block and what a difference from the factory one. Best mod yet!  12" dark smoke is a winner for me :2vrolijk_21:

It's good that you used the gasket though it was not required..  Without it, the vibration might scratch the paint.   I put a 12" Klockwerks on my SERG the day I bought it.  It was okay for around town but certainly not for traveling.  Good luck wth it!

I had to fight to get the same shield on mine (light smoke though). I've heard the Ultra has a slightly different angle to it making it a bastard child for certain parts.

Same here.  They look great, just more buffing ( dark smoke 12") than I would prefer on a long ride.  Cant beat a Cee Bailey 14" for the long ones.
