2012 Skunk what options did it come with?
« on: September 13, 2014, 04:47:57 PM »

I was reading a review that stated the Skunk came with abs  and security, but also went on to state it had the ipod kit  and a ipod nano with HD logo.....
Is this true? Currently looking at a Skunk and it doesn't have this with it.  Really would like to know so I can pressure the dealer.

I have the maple version of the 2012 CVO, and mine came with everything you mentioned, except there is no HD logo on the Nano.

Does say something on the Nano that refers to the bike but don't remember if it's CVO or spelled out but something like that.

Like the other have said, it should come with a Ipod Nano. Maybe yours will work, the dealer ordered me the adapter cable that plugs under and seat and then plugs into the ipod but this still did not fix the problem. I told them to not worry about.

it may have come with that new, but if you're buying it used, all bets are off.  though, you could use the shortcomings to negotiate a better price.  if you want to see what came with it new, look in the owner's manual, it spells it out for you.

though, you are looking at 2 different things, options like abs/security, and swag, like the ipod.  and when you say it doesn't have this, are you saying it doesn't have the ipod, or it doesn't have the controller either?  the connection is in your right side saddlebag.  in the flap.

It doesn't have the holder for the ipod or the cable going into the bag, so I assume the controller is gone as well. I have the sales manager trying to track down all of the cvo extras.... I told them today, you guys are asking full retail for a bike missing stock parts... If you don't want to replace them, then at least come off the price to cover them.

Same here. The back of the ipod has "Custom Vehicle Operations" in small print. Otherwise it is a regular ipod. The other items are bike cover with embroidered CVO logo and bag liners, gold key, se sock for the heavy breather, tool kit, kickstand pad, air deflectors, microfiber cloth and leather dressing (why I have no idea since there is no leather on the bike) and a cover for the manual.

If you have no cable to the ipod pouch in the bag then you will have an open hole in the right side saddle bag. If so, someone removed it.  As stated before, if this is pre-owned, all bets are off since very few get trades or sold with all the original extras.

the seat is leather.  well, at least partially.

I talked with the vendor and they stated that the entire seat is "simulated leather".  :nixweiss:
