Gas in Port Colborne Ontario (my home town) is $ 114.5 /liter ($ 435.00/US gal) I drive 20 min. from home and cross the US border into Niagara Falls NY and gas is $ 317.00 /USgal ( 83.4 cents /liter) even with the cost of the tolls I can save about $ 30.00 on a fill up in my truck.   Here in Ontario about 1/3rd of the total price of gas is government tax so the oil co. is getting about 76 cents /liter from the $ 114.50 we pay at the pump. 

I remember in 1980 going into Fort Erie because it was cheaper than Buffalo

I thought gas was expensive ---- until I went to Las Vegas and bought a bottle of water ( 12 ounces) for $4.00 I am no mathematician, but I think that is around $42.00  a gallon for something that falls from the sky for free. That is still half the price of their beer. By the way gas is now at  $3.60 and quickly on the rise in Vegas.

If someone had told me I would buy water out of a bottle and pay more for it than Coke or Petrol I would have laughed, just shows how good these marketing people are, look at the effort to make a gallon of fuel compared to bottling water? WTF

People have been complaining about the rising price of gasoline recently, but I have always thought that gas was a good value (especially if you were to take the $0.30, $0.40 per gallon tax off at the pump)! Obviously others need a little convincing. So the article in this week's "Autoweek" magazine brought it all to light. What if you were to buy a gallon of . . .

- Diet Snapple 16 oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon

A lot of folks can't understand how we came   
to have an oil shortage here in  Canada . 

Obviously a good reason to raise prices?

Well, there's a very simple answer.
Nobody bothered to check the oil.

We just didn't know we were getting low.   

The reason for this is purely geographical.   

Our Oil is located in:
Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Manitoba, and off the coasts of Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.   

Our DIPSTICKS are  located  in OTTAWA
