Bears on the Dragon
« on: June 05, 2011, 09:58:55 AM »

With the hot dry weather the bears are coming into the city of Maryville and the county looking for food. There was an agressive one in town last night. :rifle: A lot of activity across the Dragon going to the lake below . To those who dont know them they will bite  if chased for a group photo. :vrolijk_26:

That's probably just where they stopped when they first saw the bear, and since the bikes don't have reverse, they're pretty much stuck there until he/she gets through crossing the road.  Best not to move at all.  I've had several close encounters with Black Bears in the Smokies and surrounding areas...99.9% of the time, they will just move on if you let them.  Unless you're stupid enough to feed them, then all bets are off...

Not good to hear that they are going into Maryville though.  Hopefully, the weather pattern will change soon and they can move back into the woods, where they belong.

Saw the thread title and thought it was about state troopers.  Not sure which is worse.

I'd prefer dealing with the furry black kind instead of the one's in the funny hats...the furry one will go on about his/her business if you let it happen, but almost certainly you are going to come out of the other encounter not being a happy camper.

They both will take your donuts.  The ones in hats do it in much more annoying ways.
