Title: Owers Manual Cover
Post by: WildmanUltra on September 19, 2019, 01:21:47 PM
So when I bought my CVO the PO hadn't turned in any of the manuals with it. So I have ordered a new owners manual & the BOOM manual. And I just finally got a cover for the manual. But it isn't big enough for both the owners manual and the BOOM manual. How did this come on the new bikes? What am I missing or did I get the wrong cover?

This like the one I got.

You're not missing anything. It doesn't all fit.

There is one part number for the owner manual cover, 99461-89, and as you can see from the part number it's the same one that's been used since the 1980's, way back before there were any extra manuals for infotainment systems.  The tour-pak liner should have a pouch across the back, is that big enough to contain the manuals?

Jerry,
Yes there is a pouch there. To be honest I liked the pouch that was on my 2011 RGU better.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Slowly trying to get everything that was missing replaced.

This is the one I got with both my 16 and 17 CVO SG also got the other cover with all three CVO's. I didn't get one for my 19. It fits both manuals

Thank you for the pictures. So there is a different cover for CVO bikes. I'll have to do some more looking.

I wonder if the one Buck posted was something his dealer did for CVO's? the cover I got with my 16 Street Glide was like the one you showed from Ebay

On the new bikes you don’t get a boom manual, so I guess the factory sees no need for a cover for something they no longer provide!
Probably a cost cutting measure.

Nope.  Not sure where Buck's dealer came up with the one he has, but the part number listed in the parts catalogs all the way to the 2019 CVO Touring models is the 1989 part number I posted earlier.  Buck, if you see this how about asking your dealership where they got that cover?  It looks much nicer than the one Harley provides.

Yes the one Buck posted is sort of what I figured would be included with the CVO bikes. But yes the part number and the link I posted to the one on Ebay is what is shown in the parts manual.

This pouch in the tour pack IMHO was better than what is in my CVO.

May have been something Harley Australia gave to CVO owners. I got one with my 16 and 17 CVO's and I kept the one for the 17 as I did not get one for my 19. The dealer gave me the GTS manual as it didn't come with it. Also got a shoulder bag that matched the manual pouch for 16 & 17

Rayson56 there is a lable with made in china and a number and some letters. CTRL#100/10341 but I wouldn't think that was a Harley part number.
