I've SE 251 cams on my '07 and I think that it's a good improvement.

I know not on a '08 but somebody on the site will put an advise.

Jacques, I was considering installing a SE251 cam in my 08.  The respond I received from guys on the Harley Tech Talk was that I would need to raise the compression for the cam to be effective.  How does it compare to the 255 as far as midrange pull.   Have you had it dyno'ed yet?  If so, what was the numbers?  Were you able to keep your warranty?   The SE255 cam seem to give out at about 4000 rpm's.  What is your overall opinion about the cam change?

Hey Milford,

It'll be a partial answer.
I've not dynoed because I've not changed my TB (48mm on stock '07).
Concerning the warranty, no problems, SE 251 cams were mounted by my dealer.
It's more rideable in low rpm's than with the SE 255.
With the 255, It was necessary to pull the rpm's and change often the speeds.
Now, I've a real HD with Tq and it's possible to stay in 5th or 6th from 1700 rpm's to 5000 rpm's or more.
But I ride between 1700 rpm's and 3500 rpm's. It's really another bike.
It's right for the compression it's not absolutly necessary but it'll be better. You need only to put finer Cometic gaskets.

I believe he meant to say 46 mm TB Dennis. I think he's changing to the 50 mm SE TB.

Is there a chart on cams with all specs?

For the H-D cams, refer to pages 58-59 of the 2008 Screamin' Eagle catalog for listing and description of each cam.  Chart attached lists the main specs of the available grinds.

Thank you sir!
Looks like i may be doing a cam change also.. If you go from a se-255 to se-251 do you have to change valve springs? or push rods? What about valve to piston clear?

No other parts changed.
My dealer had made the mounting when he had checked my crank runout.
