Something I Just Don't Understand.
« on: February 09, 2008, 03:00:21 AM »

Why can't Harley Davidson tell us how many of our bikes are made? Limited to ???? in these ???? colors and they don't know how many? As a car guy as well as a rider of the finest (well?) bike, I know how important these numbers are to the buyer, so with limited production why the secrecy? If I still had my 1970 my Camaro that I got from my mom that got it from my brother who got it from a friend down the street I could tell you with certainty that a 1970 Camaro RS/SS with a 396 (Really a 402, but they didn't have badges for those) was 1 of only 410 made! That was 38 FRICKN years ago! And Harley FRICKN Davidson can't in 2008 tell me how many in the color and model of 4,000 made I have? Come on! I believe from what I see that for the 2006 FLHTCUSE the Emerald is the rarest, Autumn second and the Crimson has the highest production number. But why can't they keep track? Please enlighten me as why they would keep this a secret when every manufacture of motor vehicles out there can tell you production numbers? Sorry for the rant.  Dave

Dave, I'm just curious . . . have you asked them? :nixweiss:  The members here that have asked have received responses:

FXR Production Figures
2000 SERG Production Figures
2001 SERG Production Figures
2002 SERK Production Figures
SEEG Production Figures

We have a member pursuing this information for the 2006 SEUCs, currently, so hopefully, he'll hear back soon.  Is there another model you're interested in?  If so, I can e-mail you the letter that I used for the 2000 SERG and 2004 SEEG figures.  The other members that have requested this information since then have been using my letter as a template.  If you want it, please PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

I have seen numbers for the FXDWG2 (I want one of those soooooo bad) range between 1200 and 1400 depending on who you talk to. The car that sits next to the CUSE in my garage is a 1996 Toyota Supra. They can tell you that,
1996 Production Numbers:
284 Total Supras Sold
88 were twin turbo (0 6spd/hardtops, 0 6spd/targas, 88 4spd auto/targas)
196 were non-turbos (168 targas, 28 hardtops)
You can then break it down between the 6 colors available and the Deep Jewel Green in my garage is one of 14 made. That is a 12 year old car and we didn't have to write the manufacture and ask. Why so secret?

BTW, offer's open to anyone else that wants to find this information out for their bike.  We still need FXDWG2/3, 2003-current SERK, SED, V-Rod and other models.  For the cost of a stamp and the time it took Wrongway to write the two posts in this thread, you could have this information on the way direct from Harley.  They do keep track of the information, and from all accounts so far, it's there simply for the asking. :2vrolijk_21:

I received a request for the letter from an '05 SEVR owner.  So, here's a list of the models we still need:

FXDWG2 & FXDWG3
2003 & 2007 SERK
2003 & 2004 SEDeuce
2005 & 2006 SEFB
2006 SEVR
2007 SEUC
2007 SEDyna
2007 SESS

A dozen people who own the above bike or bikes and a dozen or fewer letters and we'll have the entire current CVO production from 1999 - 2007 documented on this site.  Who wants to be next? :nixweiss:

Ok here goes.  I was lucky enough to just call customer services and believe it or not was able to get all the info in a total of about 10 minutes.  This has to be some kind of a record for shortest customer services call with getting all the info I really wanted.
The breakdown for 2007 SEUC made in each color are as follows,

B/O------1930
Red------1453
Blue------744

She was also nice enough to break it down to how many went to the state I am in which is,

California

B/O------103
Red------108
Blue------63

She also said that there were a few bikes made, that for what ever reason, did not have a color designated to them. So the Grand total of 2007 flhtcuse2's made were 4145.

Do you believe those numbers to be accurate??  I remember I had a '89 Black and Silver, FLHTCU.  I think JCZ had one the same color.  Anyway, I called to see how many were built with that color scheme.  HD told me there were only 350.  If that was in fact a true statement, the other 349 of them were at Bike Week in Daytona, in 1991.  Were you there, JC??  :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :nixweiss: Later--HUBBARD
