Winter Storage
« on: November 17, 2011, 06:42:35 PM »

I usually never let my Fatbob sit for more than 2 months maximum without taking it out for a 20 min ride in the winter here on Long Island. This winter i will be having back surgery Dec 13.Most likely the bike will be sitting until late may.The bike is in today for the 5000 mile service.I was wondering since your supposed to change your oil before an extended storage does it matter if i ride the next 2 weekends before my surgery then store it.The oil will maybe have 150 miles on it.
thanks Mike

No, it won't hurt a thing.

I have seen this argued several times with people on both sides. I agree with grc.......if lightly used oil will hurt a motor that is stored, I guess you are contaminating the entire motor when the oil is circulating :nixweiss: :nixweiss:
