Progressive Adjustment - Clicks???
« on: March 20, 2005, 10:35:13 PM »

Hey, I've heard you Progessive owners talk about setting your shocks to "X" number of "clicks."  I was playing around with mine today and they don't click.  The top portion just rotates.  Takes about five turns for it to bottom out at the other end, but no noises or stops along the way.

Are my shocks f'd up?

Your shocks are just like mine 103.  No "click" at all.  Mine go something like 7+ total rotations from stop to stop.  From the all the way "loose" position I run mine about 2 3/4 turns tighter tighter as my "happy place."

I put a little magic marker spot on both shocks during the initial install to give a guide point just to make sure nothing ever moved.  It didn't (at least not yet).

I don't hear an audible click, but my 440's have a small bubble type detent that you can feel as you rotate the top.  A friend just got his and they have the same.  Maybe there was a change somewhere along the line in the way the adjustments were set up.

Progressive 418's have a click stop preload, the 440's are infinitely adjustable.

Elvis, yeah, I think you're the one who spurred me to ask the question, but I've seen others here describe the adjustments on the 440's as "clicks," also.

Looks like jmorton came along and cleared the air up on this one.  Thanks, everyone! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
