Backrest for King Tour Pak?
« on: October 01, 2005, 04:07:41 PM »

I have been thinking about getting a King Tour pak.  My wife needs more space for stuff.  Which is the best backrest that matches the 2005 SEEG seat [smiley=confused5.gif]    Any information and photos would be appreciated [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif].

05 Rider,
Since you already have the chopped tour pack that came standard with your bike (which has a back rest on it) I'm thinking you want something other then stock? If it's comfort you're after versus total match, and you still running stock seat your best bet is to look in P&A catalog and try to match up something close to the pattern on your seat. Otherwise you can just take existing backrest off chopped tour pack and transfer it to king tour pack when you want to use it.

If the '05 king tour-paks are like the '04s, it will come pre-drilled to accept the backrest pad from your chopped pak.

If you are after the style that has the armrests, there is not a ton to choose from that doesn't look like this . . .

Comfort Stitch Tour-Pak Backrest Pad

That's the seat and backrest that I use when the tour pack is on........however, I still use the OEM riders backrest just because it doesn't take up as much room.  When I take the tour pack off, the Comfort Stitch Seat comes off, too and the stock seat goes back on.

I use a Corbin thumb screw so it doesn't take any tools to change the seat and it looks better than the stock screw.

Harley also has a nice looking thumb screw (several different dia's actually) makes the seat a 10 second on/off deal.
