Anybody running a back rest?
-
I have for about 5 years now. A backrest was kinda like a windshield for me....said I would never use one.....until I tried it.
-
looking at the seat on a 2014 it does not look like it will take a back rest. I have a bad back and their is no way I can ride without one.

Seth with auto originals in farmington NM can modify a factory seat for the 13/14 Kings, or other harley solos on the CVO bikes.
Phone (505) 327-1078 I think it was about 350 to do mine, which I also had Gell added to my seat. Sorry this is the only pic I have with me.

Live in Knoxville area and have rode the bike to Key West, and to the Apostle Islands in Northern WI, its pretty comfortable.

If the deal goes thru on my bike I will have to give them a call. Going to the dealer in the AM to see what we can work out

There is an older post on the site somewhere that shows how to convert the passenger backrest for use as a drivers backrest. Been using the converted backrest for over a year on my 2013, works great.

I bought a 2013 Street glide seat for mine with the standard backrest for that seat.....With 14inch apes it is a pleasure to lay back on...
-
I recently bought this adjustable backrest for $95.
It does the job nicely….

After a back injury many years I put a saddle and adjustable backrest on a Heritage I then had. Thought at the time was to use while the healing completed and then not need it anymore. Found out I liked it; a lot. Never been without since. Now probably really couldn't ride decent length days without. A good backrest is a good thing.

I couldn't agree more,
I had 14" apes on a previous road king once coupled together with harley signature seat with drivers backrest ... Man I could ride weeks on that thing with a smug look on my face!.

Have had a backrest for years - first on my RK, now on my RG. Back can't take it without support - now I can ride all day.
-
I put a backrest on my 07 SERK that came off of a 05 Electra Glide 11" wide 13" tall and what a difference it made, Really supports my back.

Signature Solo modified : stiffer foam and real leather
