Title: Tire pressure

This past year we put a 21" rim on Kathy's bike. I forgot to ask them what the air pressure they filled at so I could properly inflate it in the future. I am guessing what it says in the stock book is no longer true. On the sidewall of the tire it says a max of 41psi cold. You guys running 21's what do you fill the pressure to when you air up the tire.

The factory minimum inflation pressure (36 psi if I remember correctly) is still valid and I wouldn't run less than that.  Otherwise,feel free to try various pressures between 36 and 41 to see what they do for handling, turn-in, and comfort. If you prefer an answer from the folks who make the bikes, look up the minimum inflation pressure Harley recommends for the 2019 SE Road Glide that comes stock with a 21 inch front.

I tend to run a couple psi over the factory minimums, bikes or cars, since the factory minimums are slanted more toward comfort than performance and longevity.

At 41 psi you will be able to ride over a dime and tell if it is heads or tails.

I run about 2# over the recommended pressure usually.  Front is at 36-38, rear at 40-42.

On the same note, I have been finding my TPMS is dead on when I check it with a Tire Gauge, is anyone else having the same results?

My SERK is very happy at 38/39 in front and 40/41 in rear.

I've had great luck with 40psi front, 40psi rear and have run that way for many, many years.  Tire wear has always been very good with replacement on rear around 15,000 miles (whether it needs to be or not) and front between 25 and 30K miles.

Thanks for the input guys. As far as the TPMS on my 16 it is within a pound compared to a tire gauge.

Same here.  When tires heat up, shows about a 20% increase in psi from cold psi.
