I am giving my wife my old 2005 Road King. She is 5'5" and I need to lower the bike for her. What would be the best way to do it and maintain the comfort. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

White Bros lowering kit for the front and a set progressive 440's for the rear1 to 1.5 inches shorter.

How ya'll doin', Man? I think the 11.5" 440 HD's, will fill the bill, without messin' with the front-end. Lo-Pro Seat would be a hell of alot less work, and probably less expensive, too. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Lowered Front-end might look good, but more trouble than it's worth, IMO. Like dents in the Front Fender, right under the brake-line block that's attached to the bottom triple-tree. :'( Or, you'll see the bottom of it bent, and wonder how that happened. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] This is not just inclusive to aggressive Riders, either. Ask OTIS. Also, you have to be careful not to dog it down too tight, if you haul it. Not Good! Good to hear from you! I was concerned about not changing the rake and angle to much. That is why I was tring to drop both. May try the seat first than go from there. May have to do both. I hear there are also "low profile tire's" now available on the market which may help you get the seating height a little lower.... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Ordered the seat today than will go from there. Progessive 440 are out of my price range. Checked them out, best out there. But remember guys the bike is not for me. ;D Mine is in the mail [smiley=drink.gif]

I don't think it's really a no-CVO deal, BK. You're talking about lowering a touring platform and the bulk of the regulars here either have SEEGs that came lowered from the factory or have SEUCs that are happy with the extra ride height. Also, I think you got the best advice you're probably going to get right off the bat from DCFIREMAN. There really aren't too many quality options out there suspension-wise besides White Bros and Progressive. HUBBARD also mentioned looking into a low profile seat. Not much left after suspension and seat. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I put 11.5" Progressive 412's on my wifes Road King last year.

Thank you 103tHunDer, I guess now is decission time. Do I spend the extra$$$ or not. 440hd or 412hd.

Update, I put the 412HD on today. Stiff ride, think I should of went with the standard [smiley=nixweiss.gif]. I will have to do the seat and lower the front end, maybe even new handle bars. Should be done in a week or so then I will have the pics for u all.

Update, Put the new seat on she loves it [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]. Still waitng to have the front lowered, she is still on her tippi toes. Not used to waching my old Road King fly by me :(. But as I add more bling to the new bike I feel better.

If she's flying by you as you say. My guess is you going to be adding more then just bling. ;)
