Biggest complaints were with quality of paint job ( the black crimson was brown thus the mild dud name). No big motor issues. Problems with heated grips giving up the ghost. Few of us had problems with the oil pump line cracking. I'm sure other s can add different things, john

I've had no problem with my 04/06 built Haze, The problems seams to be with the first run 08/05 thru 01/06 those after that date did not get a recall about voltage or starter problem and the paint problem was with eailer build of the green and balck. If the paint looks good now it will be okay so I wouldn't worry about that. It seams to  have been bad on delivery or shortly after that.

I'm sure I'll get corrected if it's not the case :)

Good luck

Besides the paint problem I had an issue with injectors. The incorrect injectors that came on the bike caused starting problems and some popping on deceleration. Mine were changed out and the problems went away. There was some sort of bulletin on these. I don't know what date they started installing the correct ones but the correct part number is 27709-06A.

No mechanical issues with mine (same color as you are looking at). I did replace my grips under warranty and they work fine now. Big issue was the paint. I (and many others here) had my bad paint replaced under warranty and the paint job is fine now. I also heard that the end runs had no paint issues. Just look at the paint closely in the sun from different angles and you can easily tell (a flash photo works even better).
BTW, my Crimson/slate is for sale if you are interested. Go to: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=17218.0
Reasonable offers considered.
Whatever bike you choose, good luck and enjoy!

Sopecifically just the paint as mentioned previously, they replaced all of my painted tins for the milky look of the clear.

The new tins are crisp and sharp looking.  The paint thread can explain it.

Other than that just minor warranty issues that were not serial in nature from what I have seen on the site, meaning just nuisance things that you may get on any new bike at random and nothing major.

With a build date of June 06, you're good to go.  Mine was built in May...the only issue I've had is bad regulator (not a part of the recall, but it went bad), loose compensator nut, and one other problem with the primary chain tensioner (auto that I had installed prior to delivery)...both of those last problems were dealer/technician related.  Heated grips are pieces of chit, but there are great aftermarket solutions to that.  You may or may  not care for the comfort of the seat, depending on your a$$.

Lots and lots of ways to spend your money on this bike, all you've got to do is stay here and read... :2vrolijk_21:

Loved my 06 Melon.  Wish I had of kept it and saved the trade difference on the 07 and 08.

Picked it up one day, put about 50 miles on it around town and then headed for the National HOG Rally in Chattanooga. The year that I had it I racked up about 18,000 miles without one hitch.  It was a great bike and I think that I liked the 103 engine better than I do the 110.

Love mine  :apple:, ............but keep an eye on the oil line up to the pump as mine split at about 3Kmi, leaving me with a puddle out in BFE :nervous:.  A call to AAA picked me up and took me to the stealer where a warranty repair got me back up with no further problems with 9Kmi now.  :apple:

Love mine - especially after I gave her a Baker 6-Speed tranny!  Get slip-on's, Zippers air cleaner (or similar) and add/adjust air-fuel mixture via a fuel management device and you will be thrilled!

Only issue I had was the leather tour-pack latch had to recently be replaced.

Crimson and Slate, nothing but perfect. Only problem no time to ride only 5900 miles.
