I had a little trouble with the stock seat on my CVO being chitty after about 2 hours. Its pretty thin, but I think its got a great look so I did not want to replace it and there are very few places that could do anything with it.
I've had gel added to the seat pan and an adjustable backrest with matching stitching design. The seat cover was redone in a higher grade leather also, mostly out of necessity to allow for the gel and backrest.
I had the work done by Seth at :
Auto Original
105 Vine Ave
Farmington, NM 87401
(505) 327-1078
These guys were great to do business with and the turn around was a little over a week. The price was excellent also.
Heres a pic from the workbench, I'll get some pics when its back on the bike. Bike is in storage at the dealer, so I havent gotten over there yet.
(Someone else had this same mod done a little while back and has a few posts on different forums with it, so it might look familiar)

The price was excellent also.
i really like the stock seat as well, though it doesn't bother too much on longer rides. but always looking for improvement. when you say excellent price, what ballpark are we looking at?

It was just shy of 400, but if I just wanted the backrest and no gel it would have been 325.

Thanks nonpoint, good review!

Seth started doing this after I bought a Corbin solo for my 12 Skunk. About 6 months later I saw the first post on this mod.
So last month I got my seat for my 13 CVO king back from Seth. I have put 500 miles on it so far. I really like it, did the gel also.
I will really know When I ride down to Daytona and on to Key West how good it is. I think it will be equal or better than my corbin which was several hundred more.

Looks perfect. Does the backrest attach to the seat or does it attach directly to the bike. I really like the look!

The back rest is attached to the seat and is adjustable (forward, back, up and down) I have had mine for a while and really like it.
-
Very cool, thanks for the info. One last question before I send my seat off for the retrofit, What does the seat look like when you remove the back rest?
-
Very nice!
From the other work I have seen done by Seth he has talent and found a great niche for a already good looking seat!
My question is did you have to buy the backrest in advance and send also or does he have them? Was that included in your price?
Do you know if he uses memory foam? I understand GEL gets hard in the cold?
Sorry, with my time difference here in the ROK it is more difficult to breakaway to call him.
Thanks again and really interested backrest.
Sorry for being so needy...lol
Ride safe!

You got that right... July and Aug can be downright nasty with the humidity!
