Title: Seeking advise on an 05 Cherry
Post by: martys on March 18, 2015, 07:16:44 AM
A buddy of mine just got back from Bike Week where he fell in love with an 05 Cherry.  It is for sale but I'm not sure if it is the ideal price so I am asking for some input from My CVO Brothers with your opinions.  From what he tells me it sounds like it is pretty much stock with all the accessories that came with it new, it has 19,000 miles on it and the asking price is $ 17,500.  Please weigh in if you have an opinion or advise for him.

Thanks

Marty

If you assume excellent condition, around this area you might expect about $11k USD trade-in value, and about 17k USD full retail from a dealership.  Average retail per NADA is around $15k USD.

With the current exchange rate your buddy may be best buying Canadian.

A quick search brought up these, both with low mileage...

Thanks Jerry  :) That is what I thought when he asked me yesterday ... I told him around the $15K mark would be average but wanted to ask here to get more feedback.  The trouble he will have is our Canadian dollar, being as low as it is right now he will have to pay an additional 30%  :(

Paid 15K for one late last year, 21K miles, all original accessories there, plus battery tender, 2 windshields, 2006 padded dash, intercom added, true dual exhaust, chrome inner primary, new tires and battery, x-tra set of brand new tires thrown in as well.

I'm pretty sure that was the cherry at Carl's Speed Shop.  VERY clean with a few extras.  Didn't really care for the "custom" seat but it is a very nice looking bike.

I saw the same bike at Carl's. It is almost like mine. It was clean and looked Stock. Very Sweet looking. I would have given 15 for it.

Another consideration is the RIV package. It would need a KPH speedo installed as well as have non modified exhaust. Luckily mine was brought across prior to these changes.

My best friend and riding buddy bought an 05 Cherry SEEG almost two years ago.  It had 12K miles on it, was one owner and was 100% stock.  He paid 16K for it...
