Correct URL for Thunderheader
« on: September 23, 2004, 07:32:03 PM »

In this months American Iron (or maybe Hotbike) there is a Thunderheader advert. they include a website URL "www.thunderheader.com" but when you go there it is a page of some search engine or directory.

Can anyone help on the correct URL?  [smiley=glasses2.gif]

Of course having been to the Thunderheader website it doesn't tell you much. I mean it is interesting to read that some thought has been put into the design but it does make me wonder how they produce a pipe that is so all encompassing.

Maybe I am a layperson but surely the displacement of the engine must have some bearing on which type/length/size of pipe works best. It appears from the product choices that it is principally the model of bike and it's fixing positions that determines which model of Thunderheader to choose.

I just don't understanding how one pipe design and size can be suitable for everything from an 80" to a 103" (or bigger if by the pictures they are inferring suitability for big inch drag bikes).

Tony,

You are correct.   There aree a combination of engineering questions not addressed here.   You might push them a bit by asking them for a response.....evidently they are mostly making them for twin-cam 88 models.

Mike,

Good suggestion. I will pen an e-mail to the Thunderheader people and post to the forum if a response is forthcoming.

TONY
I RUN A THUNDERHEADER ON MY EVO SOFTAIL & LIKE ALL 2 INTO 1 SYSTEMS IT REALY HELPED IT ON THE LOWER & MID-RANGE BUT IT SEEMED TO HAVE LOST A TAD ON THE TOP. IT ALSO IS NOT THE MOST ATTRACTIVE COLLECTOR ON THE MARKET BUT HAS A NICE DEEP THROATY SOUND WHEN YOU ROLL IT ON & IS VERY QUITE AT AN IDLE & LOW RPM.
