Been lurking for 3 mths now and my wife damns you all. Having riden a Vulcan 800 since new for 15 yrs, I decided it was time to upgrade. Well, after viewing every page here in SEEG land, I decided on an 05 Cherry. Looked @ one local here in Tn. No tour pack, no lowers, no driver's or passenger back rests, and 56k. Stealership wouldn't come off list enough to set the hook. Found one in Atlantic City with all included and,,,, drum roll plz,,,,,, 16k on her. Two days and a phone call to a buddy and the road trip was on. Get there to find upgrades to include V&H duels, Hogtunes tweets, J&L fairing speakers, and has to have a tune with governor hitting @ 6200? OMG this beast shiats and giats!!! Never knew what I was missing having only riden a Fat Boy rental about 18 yrs ago.
Want to throw out a big thank you to all for the plethora of information I have found here.

Picked her up @ the Harley Dealership. Great bunch of guys. Spoke with the owner for an hour or so. They couldn't imagine living in East TN and having the Dragon and Cheraholla Skyway at their disposal like I do. I couldn't imagine living there and not pumping my own gas. Maybe someone here traded the one I picked up in? Would be nice to know exactly what was done to it.

Congrats on the great choice. Did it come with the tuner included? If the ECM has been modified you will want to have it handy when working on it.

I didn't see anything under the seat. Not sure where else to look for a tuner. Really hope to not have to work on it. My milage SUX but, I can't keep my hand off the throttle to make sure it's not just me.

I will have it dynoed here before too long to see where I'm @. Other than that, my only plans right now are to check out the sound system and see what I have to work with. Want to get the Aquatic deck when they upgrade it in the spring.

A good head unit, amp, and go to 6 1/2 inch speakers. The 5 1/4 stock speakers suck. Adapters
are available all over.

Congrats on a good looking SEEG and finding the best place to get information about it. I'd check out what to look out for as far as lifters, chain tensioner or whatever. A little preventive maintenance goes a long way. I hope your bike gives you many dependable miles and smiles.

Well, it was a career. I spent 8 yrs working as an RN in the emergency room. Kinda funny, I used to laugh at all the big bad Harley dudes who would buy a new full dressed bike and full set of leathers and run right down to The Dragon to prove their worth. Nothing I loved better than cutting those new leathers off when the dumb azzes can't negotiate curves. Can't tell ya how many I have had to clean up over the years. Now, here I am riding one. BUT,,,, many miles and yrs riding, many patients mistakes, and I know better than to show my ass.
