Where is all the 2016 cvo street glides ? Don't seem to be much interest or activity this year. What's up with that?
-
No interest in '16s because there weren't too many changes-same paint scheme/different colors; TPMS; and air ride adjustable suspension. Last years paint mess created some ill will too. I heard they repositioned the wiring harnesses inside saddlebags.
If MOCO added a passenger backrest, heated grips, a dummy cap on the left side of gas tank, and could create a booming stereo system that doesn't blow speakers not just once, but multiple times, then maybe there would be more excitement.
I lost all my enthusiasm over a 10 month period of 2015 CVO Street Glide ownership, and moved down to a non CVO Ultra Limited.
I suspect you may see the 110 on more non cvo bikes next year--like the '16 soft tails.
-
Reading this made me cry. Dummy cap... How rude that it doesn't exist!! I'd like to give you a big hug. I wish you luck with your non CVO Ultra Limited. I bet your smile is the widest ever everytime you look at the dummy cap on it.

Tervo: It's called aesthetics. Is it a big deal, no? However, look at last year's buzz on the CVO Street Glide and forum chatter (none this year so far)-the good and bad. Collectively, there was a consensus on how to make the bike look better during the '15 buzz .
Adding a cap was one of the suggestions on appearance/balance of tank. Another was the wiring harnesses in bags. You zeroed in on the minor. They fixed the wiring this year. Others felt a pax backrest should be standard for $37k. Others spent a few $$ more to buy a tour pak, add additional lights, etc.
The 3 big selling points on the CVO Street Glide in '15 was the engine, paint, and stereo. My "complaint" was the stereo, and while traveling, the wiring harnesses in the saddlebags were a nuisance when loading/unloading my gear.
There appears to be no buzz/excitement on the 2016, because not much changed (my original post in response to someone).
I now have $7k good reasons to be enjoying my non CVO Ultra Limited after trading my CVO and no worries about blowing speakers (sound is still just as good), more space, passenger backrest, and warm hands for winter riding w/heated grips--all standard.
I'll revisit the CVO in the future, when some of these issues are resolved.
I suspect next yr the 110 will be added to more bikes, and the buzz on CVOs will reappear when they had a 120? Get rid of the Flames? Add a 1000 watt system? The price jumps to $40+?
The TPMS , new paint colors, and air ride suspension hasn't created a lot of buzz apparently based on comments so far on the '16s, as compared to this time last year w/the '15s.
Tell us about your CVO.
-
Firstly, this is a thread for images. Therefore, maybe we should move this debate of dummy caps etc. to somewhere else. For this very reason I'll keep my reply as short as possible.
- what comes to the dummy cap and so called (alleged) "collective consensus" concerning it and possibly some other mod ideas, these are, of course, subjective issues in the extreme. I, for example, simply love the lack of any dummies and would probably announce a 10-year ban for Harley if such a dummy caps would appear on my tank or anywhere else on the bike.
- this "buzz" you're referring to is equally subjective, as is your complaint concerning loudspeaker failures. As an example, if one so wishes one could also call this loudspeaker problem a "buzz". However, when googling this with different combination of keywords it becomes apparent that there is no issue at all. There's a very limited number of loudspeaker complaints appearing around the world.
- what comes to my cvo there is not much to tell besides the fact that the discussion and comments about prices makes me smile slightly. This is because over here in Europe we have a little bit different pricing than over there in the land of gold that is the USA. In Germany CVO SG is priced at around 38.000 euros including value added tax. Meanwhile, due to taxation and custom duty differences, the price for CVO SG in Finland is 50.900 euros + delivery costs. With all the extras added my bike landed somewhere in the 55.000 euro region. Yes, you read correctly. That 55 grand converted to USD at todays rate makes 58.429,83. I have $58K reasons to ride around enjoying my left side of the tank without dummy caps. :)

This is off Fuel Moto's Facebook page. Great Guys to works with. Bike runs amazing...135Hp/133Tq! we finished up Todd's 14 CVO Street Glide last week. This build included Fuel Moto 113 big bore kit, Ward Performance CNC heads, Wood TW-999 cams, Darkhorse lower end, SE 58mm TB, AIM clutch, D&D Boarzilla 2/1 and dyno tuned it with Dynojet Power Vision with Target Tune. An awesome combination that puts the power right where you want it. Thank you for choosing Fuel Moto, enjoy the horsepower!

Where are the pics of the 2016s!?

Yea, that's what I want to know. Seems to be zero interest in the new CVO SG. I want to see the new black and blue and the red one.

Nice bike and awesome bars :2vrolijk_21:
I hear you on the ride to Sturgis. Did the same. Hopefully you were able to include Lolo Pass, Going to the Sun Road, Bighorn Mountains, Beartooth Highway and Chief Joseph Highway while making your way there and back. Of course... along with all the other awesome rides in the Sturgis area. We put in 4700 miles of what I have to also say was "Best ride of my life" from a little south of Seattle to Sturgis and back.
Enjoy that bike!

Getting to like the bike a lot more now with the new rear shocks, V&H monsters, oil cooler kit, and a bit more chrome here and there.
Fixed up all the Harley stuff ups, it's now pretty good but i guess time will tell..
Still waiting on the right bag lid that was damaged when the bag fell off. ( NOT HAPPY )

Very nice, what rear shocks did you go with. So far I am noticing the ride a little harsh.

Hi I tired air shocks that was a big mistake,
Now I use Ohlins shocks.
This is the best mod I have done so far, just fantastic a must do item as the stock shocks are to hard, i have had the back wheel bounce off the ground more than a few times on the softest setting.
Don't use any other shock, Ohlins is the only answer they are that good.

-
Stock CVO seat.
I bought the stainless steel seat frame from Grass Hopper.
I bought the HD rider seat back, that matches the seat, from Broadtracker.
Grass Hopper designed the frame to go with the back rest.

What kind of backrest is that? Part numbers?
-
The backrest frame is from Grasshopper. They made the frame for this bike, insure you specify the stainless steel version, 60 dollars.
The backrest pad is the rider backrest that matches the CVO seat, i got that from broad tracker parts on line, 104 dollars
The backrest attaches to the frame with 3 bolts and the seat trim piece, no issues.
I like the seat, fits me well and the backrest is a well come addition.
-
Thanks. Can you post some closer up pics of the bracket, like the back side of the backrest pad? I looked at their website http://www.grasshopperlimited.com and don't see any mention of a stainless version. I am waiting on a call back from them. As far as the backrest pad, are you referring to the "Short Passenger Backrest Pad – CVO Street Glide Styling" Part Number 52300361? I do not see a "rider backrest"
-
Sorry, yes it is the passenger back rest.
This is thread on the development of the backrest for the CVO streetglide and it contains numerous pictures.

tervonenllc, three thumbs-up for the price-thing here in good ol´europe :(
Firstly, this is a thread for images.

f you take a look at this video, at minute 3:26 exactly, you can see the rear indicators that are flashing in an odd way, as Christmas lights or written to led ....
this is possible on all motorcycles. ???

They aren't flashing - it's simply how LED lights appear on film. If you were holding the camera, it would appear they are "flickering" while viewing through the camera, but when you put the camera down- the lights would be lit solid.

TRWTOW, What dealership did you buy that from? Brighton HD maybe? The reason I ask is I was there a couple weeks ago and saw a Orange / Black CVO Streetglide on the showroom floor that they had robbed the CVO windshield off and replaced with a regular Streetglide windshield, and in your picture it looks like you have the Non CVO windshield on your bike.
Heres Mine.

The clutch is odd where it hits. And I can feel when I shift in the clutch lever.

One more pic. I added black lower forks, black D&D 2-1 exhaust with a ghost pipe, black passing lights with daymaker bulbs, black Factory 47 bars (16"), black windshield trim, windshield bag and bags on the lowers. The solo seat is from a 2013 cvo roadglide. Much more comfortable to me. I am using a powervision tuner. I am doing away with the fairing mirrors and getting black ones for the bars. I hate the fairing mirrors. It's also got a stage III kit. I done all the mods myself other than the stage III which the dealer done. I only have 2200 miles on it right now. The stage 3 was done at 1400 miles.
