I got the opportunity to ride a funeral escort Saturday for a sailor that lost his life in Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941 while serving aboard the USS Oklahoma. Mr Wickers was believed to be in the radio room when the attack began, and had been buried in the Punchbowl Cemetery till now. Though ongoing DNA testing another of our Unknowns has been identified, and laid to rest. I hope that this is only one of the close to 400 Unknows buried there that will soon be identified and brought home.
Want to say a Thank You to all who have served.
